Aashish Metals supplies engineering plastics for machining and wear service: Delrin, PTFE, Nylon, PEEK, PVDF and polypropylene, held as rods, tubes, sheets and bushes and cut to the size you need. The best-selling lines are the Delrin range, where our Delrin tubes and Delrin rods ship in standard and cut lengths for gears, bushes and machined parts. If you already know the material and the form, the tables below take you straight to the page with sizes and stock.

Beyond Delrin, the range extends from low-friction bushes to high-temperature and chemical resistant grades. Our nylon bushes are a rapidly expanding wear part range, PEEK defines the high temperature and high performance market, and both PVDF and PTFE offer highly chemical resistant solutions. The ranges are all selected as a professional workshop would be, materials are chosen to offer the performance required, and the shape needed, and the child pages will show the options available.

Engineering Plastics We Stock

Material first, because the plastic decides whether the part survives its load, temperature and chemistry. Each row links to that material in the forms we hold.
Plastic Best for Typical forms
Delrin (POM) Precision machined parts, gears, bushes and rollers; stiff, low-friction, easy to machine Rods, tubes, sheets, bushes
PTFE / Teflon Chemical resistance, non-stick, sealing and low friction across a wide temperature range Sheets, rods, tubes, bushes
Nylon Tough wear parts, bushes, gears and guides where impact and abrasion matter Bushes, sheets, rods
PEEK High-temperature, high-strength and chemically demanding parts; the top of the range Rods, bushes, tubes, sheets
PVDF Aggressive chemical service, acids and high-purity fluid handling Rods, sheets, bushes
Polypropylene General chemical tanks, ducting and fabrication at low cost Sheets, rods, tubes

Plastic Product Forms

Form second. Every material above is available in these forms, cut to size.
Form What we cut Common uses
Rods Round stock in a wide diameter range, cut to length Turned and machined components, shafts, spacers
Tubes Hollow bar and extruded tube Bushes, sleeves, rollers, bored parts
Sheets & Plates Cut sheet in a range of thicknesses Wear pads, gaskets, machined flat parts, linings
Bushes Pre-formed or cut-to-size bushes Bearings, wear bushes, guides

Delrin (POM) Rods, Tubes, Sheets & Bushes

Delrin, the trade name for acetal or POM, is the machining plastic that workshops reach for first, and it is the strongest-converting line on this page. It is stiff, dimensionally stable, low in friction and machines cleanly to close tolerances, which makes it the default for gears, cams, bushes, rollers and precision turned parts. We hold it as Delrin rods for turned components, Delrin tubes for bushes and bored parts, Delrin sheets for flat machined pieces and wear pads, and ready Delrin bushes for bearing and guide duty. All of it cuts to size, so a one-off prototype and a production run are both quick to quote.

PTFE & Teflon Sheets, Rods & Tubes

PTFE, sold under the Teflon name, is the chemical and non-stick specialist. Almost nothing attacks it, it stays usable across a very wide temperature range, and its low friction makes it the standard for seals, slide pads, gaskets and lined components. Our PTFE sheets cover gasket cutting and lining work, PTFE rods suit machined seals and insulators, and PTFE tubes handle sleeving and low-friction fluid paths. Where a fastener needs the same chemical protection, we also carry PTFE and Teflon coated fasteners. PTFE is soft and creeps under load, so for structural wear parts a filled grade or a stiffer plastic is the better call, which the decision guide below covers.

Nylon, PEEK & PVDF for Bushes, Wear & High-Performance

The rest of the range splits by property. Nylon bushes are the tough, impact-resistant wear line, well suited to bearings and guides that take shock and abrasion, and nylon sheets back them up for larger wear parts. PEEK is the high-performance grade at the top of the range, holding strength and chemical resistance at temperatures that soften every other plastic here; we stock PEEK rods, PEEK bushes and PEEK tubes for demanding aerospace, semiconductor and instrumentation parts. For aggressive chemical service short of PEEK’s price, PVDF rods handle acids and high-purity fluids. Between them these three cover wear, heat and chemistry once Delrin and PTFE run out.

How to Choose the Right Engineering Plastic

A short guide by the property that governs the part:

  • Machinability and stiffness: Delrin (POM). The default for precision turned and milled parts.
  • Chemical resistance and non-stick: PTFE for the widest chemical range and sealing; PVDF where you also need stiffness and strength.
  • Toughness and impact wear: Nylon, for bushes and guides that take shock and abrasion.
  • High temperature and high strength: PEEK, the top of the range, where every other plastic here would soften.
  • Low-cost chemical fabrication: Polypropylene, for tanks, ducting and general chemical work.

Cut to Size, Stock & Dispatch

Engineering plastics are a cut-to-size business, and that is how we run this range. Rods, tubes and sheets are cut to your length or footprint from stock, small and prototype quantities ship quickly, and larger runs are confirmed on enquiry. Where a part needs machining rather than just cut stock, tell us the drawing and we will quote the finished component. Material grade, form, size and quantity are all we need to price it, and stock plastics move fast because there is no melt or mill lead time behind them. Send the list and the quote comes straight back.

Engineering Plastics: Frequently Asked Questions

Delrin (POM), PTFE and Teflon, Nylon, PEEK, PVDF and polypropylene, held as rods, tubes, sheets and bushes and cut to size. If a grade or form is not listed, ask, because we hold more than the site shows and can source to specification.

Both machine well, but they favour different jobs. Delrin, which is acetal or POM, is stiffer, more dimensionally stable and lower in friction, so it suits precision gears, bushes and turned parts. Nylon is tougher and more impact resistant, so it wins on wear bushes and guides that take shock and abrasion. For a stiff, accurate part choose Delrin; for a tough, knock-resistant one choose nylon.

PTFE, sold as Teflon, has the widest chemical resistance and is almost inert, which makes it the first choice for aggressive chemical, sealing and non-stick service. Where you also need stiffness and strength, PVDF is the better structural choice for acids and high-purity fluids. PEEK adds high-temperature capability on top, at a higher cost.

Yes. Rods, tubes and sheets are cut to your length or footprint from stock, and small or prototype quantities ship quickly. Where a part needs machining rather than plain cut stock, send the drawing and we will quote the finished component.

PEEK, by a clear margin over the others in this range. It holds strength and chemical resistance at temperatures that soften Delrin, nylon and PVDF, which is why it is specified for demanding aerospace, semiconductor and instrumentation parts despite its higher price. PTFE also tolerates a wide temperature range but is soft and creeps under load.
