Aashish Metals is a Hastelloy supplier holding the corrosion-grade nickel alloys that survive acids where stainless and even other nickel alloys fail, in C276, C22 and B2, as round bars, pipes and tubes, fittings, fasteners and sheets, with mill test certificates and 100 percent positive material identification on every item. The busiest lines are the bars: our Hastelloy C276 round bars and Hastelloy C22 round bars cover the machined valve, pump and reactor parts these alloys are specified for. If you already know the grade and the form, the tables below take you straight to the page with sizes and specs.

Hastelloy sits at the top of the corrosion shelf, above the Inconel and Incoloy grades, and it is specified when the chemistry is genuinely hostile: strong acids, wet chlorine, mixed and contaminated streams. Because it is expensive, getting the grade right matters, and the family split below is where that decision is made.

B-Series or C-Series? The Hastelloy Decision

The most common and expensive Hastelloy mistake is treating the family as one material. It is two, built for opposite chemistries.
C-Series (C276, C22) B-Series (B2)
Alloy system Nickel-chromium-molybdenum Nickel-molybdenum, very low chromium
Built for Mixed and oxidising media: wet chlorine, hypochlorite, ferric and cupric chlorides, oxidising acids Reducing acids: hydrochloric at all concentrations, sulphuric, phosphoric
The fatal error Using it in strongly reducing pure hydrochloric, where a B grade does better Any oxidising contaminant; ferric or cupric ions cause premature failure
Chloride cracking Excellent resistance Immune, from the high nickel content
The short version: if the stream is oxidising, mixed, or you are unsure what else is in it, choose a C grade, which is why C276 is the volume seller. If the acid is reducing and clean, especially hydrochloric, the B grade outperforms everything. Tell us the stream chemistry when you enquire and we will confirm the family before you order.

Hastelloy Grades We Stock

Grade UNS Best for Go to
C276 N10276 The all-rounder: wet chlorine, hypochlorite, mixed acids, seawater; widest availability C276 bars, pipes, fittings
C22 N06022 Better in oxidising media and weld-zone corrosion than C276; oxidising acid chlorides C22 bars, pipes, fasteners
B2 N10665 Hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and other reducing acids, free of oxidisers B2 round bars

Hastelloy Product Forms

Every grade above is available across these forms, and the wider nickel alloy range carries the neighbouring families.
Form What we hold
Round Bars The biggest line: bars for machining valve, pump and fitting components across C276, C22 and B2
Pipes & Tubes Seamless and welded pipe and tube in C276 and C22
Fittings Buttweld, socket weld and threaded fittings by grade
Fasteners Bolts, nuts and stud bolts in C276 and C22 for corrosive-service bolting
Sheets & Plates Cut sheet and plate for fabricated equipment

Hastelloy C276 & C22 Round Bars, Pipes & Fittings

The C-series grades are the volume of the Hastelloy market. Hastelloy C276 round bars lead the range, because C276 is one of the very few materials that handles wet chlorine, hypochlorite, chlorine dioxide and mixed oxidising-and-reducing streams together, and it is stocked as pipes and tubes, fittings and fasteners as well as bars. Hastelloy C22 round bars are the second C-grade, with more chromium than C276 for better resistance in oxidising media and in the weld heat-affected zone, and C22 is also held as pipes and tubes and fasteners. Where a spec names one grade, order that grade; the two are close but not interchangeable in acid service.

Hastelloy B2 Round Bars

The B-series is the reducing-acid specialist. Hastelloy B2 round bars are a nickel-molybdenum alloy with around 28 percent molybdenum and almost no chromium, which makes them outstanding in hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures, and in sulphuric and phosphoric acid, provided the stream stays free of oxidisers. That last point is the whole caution: B2 is destroyed by ferric and cupric ions, which form on their own when hydrochloric acid contacts iron or copper elsewhere in the system, so a correctly chosen B2 part can be poisoned by its own plant. Where the stream is oxidising or mixed, a C grade is the safer call, and for hydrofluoric acid specifically the answer is Monel rather than any Hastelloy.

Quality, Certification & PMI

At Hastelloy prices, certification is not a premium service, it is the minimum. Every item ships with an EN 10204 mill test certificate, heat-number traceable, and with 100 percent positive material identification, piece by piece, so a C276 is confirmed C276 and not a cheaper look-alike. NACE MR0175 compliance for sour service and third-party witness through BV, SGS or TUV are arranged at order stage, and material is packed alloy-segregated and labelled so nothing is mixed in transit or at goods-in. Hastelloy is a registered trademark of Haynes International, and ordering by grade number and UNS, C276 as N10276, C22 as N06022, B2 as N10665, keeps a specification brand-neutral and comparable across mills. Send the grade, the form and the quantity, with the stream chemistry if you want the grade confirmed, and the quote comes back with the certification built in.

Hastelloy Products: Frequently Asked Questions

C276 and C22 in the C-series and B2 in the B-series, across round bars, pipes and tubes, fittings, fasteners and sheets. Round bars are the biggest line. If a grade or form is not listed, ask, because we hold more than the site shows and can source to specification.

They are built for opposite chemistries. The C-series, C276 and C22, are nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys for mixed and oxidising media such as wet chlorine, hypochlorite and oxidising acids. The B-series, B2, is nickel-molybdenum with almost no chromium, for reducing acids such as hydrochloric at all concentrations. Using a B grade where oxidisers are present is the classic, expensive error.

Chromium. C22 carries more chromium than C276, which gives it better resistance in oxidising media and in the weld heat-affected zone, while C276 has the widest availability and handles wet chlorine, hypochlorite and mixed streams. In reducing conditions the two behave similarly. Where a specification names one, order that grade, because they are close but not interchangeable in acid service.

Because B2 has almost no chromium and therefore no defence against oxidising conditions, and ferric and cupric ions are strong oxidisers. The trap is that nobody adds them deliberately: they form when hydrochloric acid contacts iron or copper elsewhere in the system, so a correctly specified B2 part can be attacked by its own plant. Where the stream is oxidising or mixed, specify a C grade instead.

Yes, on every item. Each order ships with an EN 10204 mill test certificate that is heat-number traceable, plus 100 percent positive material identification piece by piece, with NACE MR0175 documentation and third-party witness inspection available at order stage. At these alloy prices, that traceability is the assurance the grade on the certificate is the grade in the box.
