Pipe: A106 Gr B/C · A53 Gr B · A333 Gr 3/6 (low-temp) · Fittings: A105 forged · Buttweld · Socket Weld · Threaded · IBR available

Aashish Metals supplies carbon steel for pressure piping the way it is actually specified, by ASTM standard. On the pipe side that means A106 Gr B/C pipes & tubes for seamless high-temperature service, A53 for welded lines and A333 for low-temperature duty, and on the fitting side A105 forged fittings & flanges with matching buttweld and socket-weld fittings. Everything ships with mill test certificates, and IBR certification is available for boiler work. If you already know the specification and the form, the tables below take you straight to the page.

Carbon steel is the default for pressure piping wherever corrosion and extreme temperature are not the deciding factor, which covers a large share of process, structural and utility work. Where the service turns hot, the step up is the chrome-moly grades on our Alloy Steel (chrome-moly) page, and where it turns corrosive the answer is stainless. This hub keeps the carbon-steel specifications clearly separated so you land on the right one.

Carbon Steel Pipe by Specification

Carbon steel pipe is chosen by its ASTM specification, and the three that cover almost all work are:
Specification What it is Bought for
ASTM A106 Gr B/C Seamless carbon steel pipe for high-temperature service Boiler, refinery and power pressure piping at elevated temperature
ASTM A53 Gr B Welded and seamless pipe for general and structural service Utility, structural and lower-duty pressure lines
ASTM A333 Gr 3/6 Impact-tested carbon steel pipe for low-temperature service Cryogenic and cold-service lines where standard carbon steel turns brittle
We hold A106 Gr B/C pipe, A53 Gr B pipe and A333 low-temperature pipe in seamless and welded forms across the common size and schedule range.

Carbon Steel Fittings & Flanges

The fittings follow the pipe by specification. A105 forged fittings and flanges are the standard for forged carbon-steel flanges, threaded and socket-weld fittings, matched to the pipe schedule. For welded joints, carbon steel buttweld pipe fittings cover elbows, tees, reducers and caps to ASTM A234 WPB, and A105 socket weld fittings handle the small-bore high-pressure connections. Ordering the fittings, flanges and pipe to the matching specifications keeps a joint consistent and code-compliant.

The Temperature Decision: When You Need A333

The one carbon-steel mistake worth preventing is using standard pipe in the cold. Ordinary carbon steel like A106 loses toughness as temperature falls and can fail in a brittle, sudden way below a certain point, which is unacceptable in a pressure line. A333 exists precisely for this: it is impact-tested at low temperature, with Grade 6 rated to around minus 45 degrees Celsius and Grade 3 colder still, so it stays tough where A106 would not. The rule is simple, if the line runs cold, refrigeration, LNG, cryogenic or cold-climate service, specify A333 low-temperature pipe and matching low-temperature fittings, not standard A106. For hot service the concern reverses and the answer is a chrome-moly grade instead. Tell us the design temperature and we will confirm the specification.

When Carbon Steel Is Not Enough

Carbon steel covers the middle of the pressure-piping world, but two conditions take it out of its range. When the service runs hot enough that creep and oxidation matter, in boilers, heaters and refinery units, the step up is the chromium-molybdenum grades, P11, P22 and P91, on our Alloy Steel (chrome-moly) page, which hold strength at temperatures where carbon steel softens. When the service is corrosive, seawater, chemicals or anything that would rust carbon steel quickly, the answer is our Stainless Steel Products range. A useful way to think about it: carbon steel for ambient and structural pressure work, chrome-moly for heat, stainless for corrosion. Matching the material to the real duty avoids both premature failure and overspending on alloy you do not need.

Quality, Certification & IBR

Every carbon steel order ships with an EN 10204 mill test certificate, heat-number traceable, with the chemistry and mechanical properties to the ordered ASTM specification, and impact test reports on A333 low-temperature material where the grade requires them. IBR Form III certification is arranged for boiler-code work, and third-party witness through BV, SGS or TUV is available at order stage. Positive material identification separates carbon steel from any alloy grade in a mixed store, and material is marked with the specification and heat number. Common pipe, fittings and flanges ship quickly; larger and low-temperature items are confirmed on enquiry. Send the specification, the form and the quantity and the quote comes back with the certification built in.

Carbon Steel Products: Frequently Asked Questions

Carbon steel pipe and tube in ASTM A106 Gr B/C, A53 Gr B and A333 low-temperature grades, forged fittings and flanges in A105, buttweld fittings in A234 WPB, and socket-weld and threaded fittings. IBR certification is available for boiler work. If a specification or form is not listed, ask, because we hold more than the site shows and can source to specification.

Manufacture and duty. A106 is seamless carbon steel pipe for high-temperature pressure service, the usual choice for boiler and refinery piping. A53 is available welded or seamless and is used for general, structural and lower-duty pressure work. Where the line runs hot and is code-critical, A106 is normally specified; for general service A53 is the economical choice.

Whenever the line runs cold. Standard carbon steel such as A106 loses toughness and can fail in a brittle way at low temperature, so A333, which is impact-tested cold, is used for refrigeration, LNG, cryogenic and cold-climate service. Grade 6 is rated to around minus 45 degrees Celsius and Grade 3 colder still. Match the fittings to the same low-temperature specification.

A105 is the standard forged carbon steel grade for piping components: flanges, threaded fittings and socket-weld fittings. It matches the A106 and A53 pipe specifications, so a flanged or small-bore joint stays consistent. For welded joints the matching buttweld fittings are A234 WPB.

Yes. Every order ships with an EN 10204 mill test certificate that is heat-number traceable to the ordered ASTM specification, with impact test reports on A333 low-temperature material, IBR Form III certification for boiler work, and positive material identification and third-party witness inspection available at order stage.
