An angle type globe valve is used wherever a line needs both a 90-degree turn and globe-valve flow control at the same point. It replaces a separate elbow and globe valve with a single component, gives a lower flow coefficient and less pressure drop than a straight globe pattern with an elbow, and copes well with pulsating flow such as steam or reciprocating-pump discharge.
