What Are Hastelloy Plates & Sheets?
Hastelloy is a family of high-performance nickel-based superalloys formulated specifically to resist corrosion in the harshest chemical and thermal environments. Unlike standard stainless steel, Hastelloy alloys incorporate significant additions of molybdenum, chromium, and in certain grades tungsten and cobalt, which give them outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress-corrosion cracking.

FAQ’s About Hastelloy Plates & Sheets Supplier
C276 (UNS N10276) has higher molybdenum (~16%) and tungsten (~3.7%) content, giving it superior resistance to reducing environments such as hydrochloric acid. Hastelloy C22 (UNS N06022) has more chromium (~22%), making it better in oxidising acids like nitric and chromic acid and in mixed-acid environments. For most general chemical processing, C276 is preferred; C22 is chosen when oxidising conditions dominate.
Hastelloy C276 sheets and plates are covered under ASTM B575 / ASME SB575. Hastelloy B2/B3 plates fall under ASTM B333 / ASME SB333, and Hastelloy X plates under ASTM B435 / ASME SB435.
