Aashish Metals is a Mumbai-based cast steel gate valve supplier stocking full-bore isolation valves from Class 150 through Class 2500, built to API 600, BS 1414 and ASME B16.34. WCB is our standard casting, but we also stock WCC, WC6, WC9, LCB and LCC for jobs that run hot or cold. If your line is dealing with sour service, corrosive media or high chlorides, we can cast the same valve in stainless steel (CF8/CF8M), alloy steel, or duplex and super duplex instead.
Bonnet-wise, you can go bolted or pressure-seal, and every valve comes with an outside-screw-and-yoke rising stem as standard. End connections are flexible too, including flanged, butt-weld, socket-weld or screwed, all per ASME B16.5, B16.11, B16.25 and B1.20.1.
Need something smaller and rated for higher pressure? Our forged gate valves handle that up to 2″. And if the line is carrying slurry or anything with solids in it, a standard wedge gate won’t hold up, which is where our knife edge gate valves come in.
On the quality side, nothing leaves our facility untested. Every valve goes through hydrostatic shell and seat testing per API 598, and ships with an EN 10204 3.1/3.2 mill test certificate plus full heat-number traceability. If your project needs third-party witness inspection or IBR Form III-C certification, we can arrange that on request.

What Is a Cast Steel Gate Valve?
A cast steel gate valve is a full-bore, on/off isolation valve whose body, bonnet and gland flange are produced by casting rather than forging. The valve opens by lifting a wedge or gate clear of the flow path, giving a straight-through bore with almost no pressure drop when fully open — which is exactly why gate valves are specified for block/isolate duty rather than throttling. Casting becomes the more economical route once the valve body is larger than about 2 inches, because a forged body of the same rating would need a disproportionate wall thickness in bar-stock form. That is also why our cast steel gate valve range picks up from 1″ and runs through 20″ and above, handing off to our compact forged gate valves below 2″ for high-pressure small-bore lines, and to our knife edge gate valves wherever the medium carries solids, slurry or fibrous content that would jam a standard wedge.
Wedge Gate Valve in Steam Service — A Practical Note
One common field issue with solid-wedge gate valves in steam lines is thermal binding: when the valve is closed and steam is then introduced, the wedge expands and can jam, making the valve difficult to re-open. Where this is a known risk, we recommend specifying a flexible or split wedge, or moving to a resilient-seated design — our engineering team can advise on the right wedge type against your line’s temperature swing before you order.

FAQ’s About Forged Globe Valve
A bolted bonnet is fastened with studs and nuts and is standard up to Class 600. A pressure-seal bonnet uses line pressure itself to tighten the bonnet seal, and becomes the preferred design from Class 900 upward, where sealing performance needs to improve as pressure increases.
