Grades: Grade 2 (CP, R50400) · Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V, R56400) · Forms: Round Bars · Pipes & Tubes · Fasteners · 100% PMI
Aashish Metals is a titanium supplier holding the two grades that cover almost all titanium work, commercially pure Grade 2 and the high-strength Grade 5, as round bars, pipes and tubes and fasteners, with mill test certificates and positive material identification on every item. The busiest lines are the Titanium Grade 5 round bars and Titanium Grade 2 pipes & tubes, cut and certified for machined and corrosion-service parts. If you already know the grade and the form, the tables below take you straight to the page.
Titanium buying comes down to one decision: corrosion or strength. Grade 2 is the corrosion grade, the choice for seawater and chemical service, where it competes with the cupronickels on our Copper Nickel shelf; Grade 5, Ti-6Al-4V, is the high-strength alloy for structural and aerospace parts. The two grades cover most requirements, and the fold below makes the choice quick.
Grade 2 or Grade 5? The Titanium Decision
| Grade 2 (CP) | Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) | |
|---|---|---|
| Type | Commercially pure titanium | Titanium alloy with 6% aluminium, 4% vanadium |
| Chosen for | Corrosion resistance: seawater, chemical, wet chlorine | Strength: about twice the strength of Grade 2 |
| Corrosion | Excellent, the benchmark for CP titanium | Good, but lower than Grade 2 |
| Weldability & forming | Excellent, ductile | Weldable but less formable, usually machined |
| Typical use | Heat exchangers, seawater piping, chemical vessels | Aerospace, fasteners, shafts, high-strength structural parts |
Titanium Grades & Forms We Stock
| Grade | Best for | Forms |
|---|---|---|
| Grade 2 (R50400) | Seawater, chemical and wet-chlorine corrosion service | Round bars, pipes & tubes, fasteners |
| Grade 5 / Ti-6Al-4V (R56400) | High-strength structural, aerospace and fastener parts | Round bars, pipes & tubes, fasteners |
Titanium Grade 2 (Commercially Pure)
Grade 2 is commercially pure titanium and the benchmark corrosion grade. It does not corrode in seawater at any velocity, resists wet chlorine, chlorine dioxide and most chemical media, and it welds and forms well, which makes it the standard for heat exchangers, seawater piping, chemical vessels and desalination service. We hold it as Titanium Grade 2 round bars for machined corrosion-service parts, pipes and tubes for condenser and seawater lines, and fasteners. For most corrosion work, Grade 2 is the right and economical titanium.
Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V)
Grade 5, the Ti-6Al-4V alloy, is the high-strength standard of titanium and the most widely used titanium alloy in the world. The aluminium and vanadium roughly double its strength over Grade 2 while keeping titanium’s light weight, which is why it dominates aerospace, high-strength fasteners, shafts and structural parts. Its corrosion resistance is good but lower than Grade 2, and it is usually machined rather than deep-formed. We stock Titanium Grade 5 round bars for machined high-strength components, pipes and tubes and fasteners. Where strength governs, Grade 5 is the grade; where corrosion governs, Grade 2 is the better choice.
Where Titanium Wins, and Where It Does Not
Titanium is not always the answer, and being honest about that builds trust. It wins where seawater or chemical corrosion would destroy stainless, and where its light weight and strength-to-weight matter, but two cautions apply. First, on a per-kilo basis it looks expensive, though its zero corrosion allowance and long life often close the gap on a cost-per-service-life basis, and for seawater specifically the Copper Nickel grades offer biofouling resistance titanium cannot match, so the two are worth comparing. Second, titanium must never see dry chlorine gas, where it can ignite, and it is attacked by hydrofluoric acid and free fluorides, which is Monel territory instead. Tell us the medium and we will confirm whether titanium is the right call before you order.
Quality, Certification & PMI
Every titanium order ships with an EN 10204 mill test certificate, heat-number traceable, with positive material identification available so a Grade 5 is confirmed as Ti-6Al-4V and not commercially pure. Grade, form, size and quantity are all we need to quote, and third-party witness through BV, SGS or TUV is arranged at order stage. Round bars in common sizes ship from stock; pipe, tube and fasteners are confirmed on enquiry. Thin-wall titanium tube is packed with care because it does not forgive rough handling. Send the grade, the form and the quantity and the quote comes back with the certification built in.

Titanium Products: Frequently Asked Questions
Grade 2, commercially pure titanium for corrosion service, and Grade 5, the Ti-6Al-4V high-strength alloy, across round bars, pipes and tubes and fasteners. Grade 5 round bars are the biggest line. If a grade or form is not listed, ask, because we hold more than the site shows and can source to specification.
Corrosion versus strength. Grade 2 is commercially pure titanium, the benchmark for corrosion resistance in seawater and chemical service, and it welds and forms well. Grade 5 is Ti-6Al-4V, an alloy with about twice the strength but somewhat lower corrosion resistance, used for aerospace, fasteners and structural parts. Choose Grade 2 for corrosion and Grade 5 for load.
Not for everything. Grade 5 is stronger, but Grade 2 resists corrosion better and costs less, so for seawater, chemical and heat-exchanger service Grade 2 is the correct choice. Grade 5 is better only where the part must carry high mechanical load. Choosing Grade 5 for a corrosion job is a common and costly mistake.
Grade 2 titanium is excellent in seawater, resisting corrosion at any velocity for the life of the plant, which makes it a standard heat-exchanger and desalination material. One thing to weigh is biofouling: titanium resists corrosion but marine growth still settles on it, whereas copper-nickel discourages fouling naturally, so the two are worth comparing for a given seawater duty.
Yes, on every order. Each ships with an EN 10204 mill test certificate that is heat-number traceable, with positive material identification and third-party witness inspection available at order stage, so the grade on the certificate, Grade 2 or Grade 5, is confirmed as the grade in the box.
