Hastelloy Fasteners Supplier in India – C276, C22 & B2 Bolts, Nuts & Studs
Home > Materials > Hastelloy Products > Hastelloy Fasteners
A single corroded bolt can shut down a flange, leak acid onto a plant floor and cost far more than the fastener ever did. That is why engineers working with hot acids, chlorides and sour gas specify Hastelloy fasteners instead of stainless steel. At Aashish Metals, we supply Hastelloy C276, C22 and B2 bolts, studs, nuts, washers, screws and threaded rod to chemical plants, refineries, pharma units and EPC contractors in India and abroad. Each fastener is made from a certified bar with a heat-traceable EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate, and we can cut, thread, finish and pack to your drawing, with the paperwork your inspector expects, from a handful of pieces for a pilot line to a full project package. This page explains grades, standards, sizes, strength, galling, price drivers and applications in plain language, so you can specify the right fastener the first time and send us an enquiry that turns into an accurate quote.
What are Hastelloy fasteners?
Hastelloy fasteners are bolts, studs, nuts, screws, washers and threaded rods machined or formed from Hastelloy nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloys such as C276 (UNS N10276), C22 (UNS N06022) and B2 (UNS N10665). They resist severe corrosion from acids, chlorides and oxidising media where stainless steel fasteners would pit, crack or dissolve.

Important note on strength: Annealed Hastelloy is corrosion-resistant but is not as strong as a B7 alloy-steel stud. Cold-worked (strain-hardened) bar can give higher yield strength, and values are printed on the MTC. Do not swap bolting for a different grade or condition without a design check, and always calculate bolt loads from the certified strength, not from the datasheet.

Hastelloy Bolts Price: What Drives It
People often search for hastelloy bolts price hoping for a number. The honest answer is that nickel and molybdenum markets move, and a bolt is priced by material weight plus machining, so a static list would be out of date quickly. Here is what shapes your quote:
| Price factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Grade | C276, C22, B2 and B3 have different nickel and molybdenum content |
| Size and length | Heavier fasteners use more bar stock |
| Type | Threaded rod is cheaper per kg than machined hex bolts or custom heads |
| Forming method | Rolled threads and forged heads cost differently to fully machined parts |
| Quantity | Larger lots spread setup and bar-cutting cost |
| Coating or finish | Xylan, PTFE, polishing or pickling add cost |
| Certification | 3.2 and extra testing add cost |
| Destination and packing | Export packing, freight and Incoterms |
To get a fast, accurate price, send us the grade, standard, size, thread, length, quantity, certificate level and delivery location, or attach a drawing.

Hastelloy Fasteners Grades and How to Choose
Hastelloy C276 fasteners and bolts (UNS N10276)
C276 is the workhorse. With about 15–17% molybdenum and 3–4.5% tungsten, it handles both oxidising and reducing chemicals, including wet chlorine, hypochlorite and hot acid mixtures. If you are unsure, hastelloy c276 fasteners are the safe starting point. On drawings you may also see them written as c276 fasteners, c276 bolts or hastelloy c276 bolts.
Hastelloy C22 fasteners (UNS N06022)
C22 carries more chromium (20–22.5%), which helps in strongly oxidising acids and hot chloride solutions. Hastelloy c22 fasteners are popular in FGD scrubbers, pharma and pesticide plants where chemistry swings between oxidising and reducing.
Hastelloy B2 fasteners (UNS N10665)
B2 is the specialist for hydrochloric acid without oxidisers. Hastelloy b2 fasteners perform well in pure HCl, but any ferric or cupric salts turn them into a poor choice, and B2 should not be held in the 540–815 °C range because it loses ductility. If that thermal risk matters, ask us about B3 (UNS N10675), which is more stable.
Other grades on request
| Property / use | C276 | C22 | B2 | B3 |

| Best for | Mixed or unknown chemistry, chlorides, FGD | Oxidising acids, chloride pitting, pharma | Pure hydrochloric acid (reducing) | HCl with better thermal stability than B2 |
| Avoid when | Strong hot oxidising acids (look at C22) | Purely reducing HCl (look at B2/B3) | Oxidisers present; long exposure at 540–815 °C | Oxidising media |
| Bar standard | ASTM B574 | ASTM B574 | ASTM B335 | ASTM B335 |
Selection and Installation Guidance
Match the fastener to the joint
Bolting is only as good as the joint around it. For Hastelloy lines, pair fasteners with matching Hastelloy pipes and tubes, pipe fittings, threaded fittings, socket weld fittings and flanges. Instrument lines often need tube fittings, needle valves, ball valves and manifold valves bolted or mounted with the same alloy hardware.
Avoid galling
Nickel alloys are prone to galling, where the thread surfaces weld together as the nut turns. It is the most common site problem we hear about. To reduce it:
- Use a nickel-based or other anti-seize compound that is free of sulphur, lead and chlorides.
- Prefer rolled threads and clean, undamaged threads.
- Run the nut on slowly and avoid impact wrenches.
- Consider Xylan coated or PTFE coated fasteners, keeping in mind their temperature limits.
- Validate the torque with the lubricant you actually use, because friction changes preload.
Nuts and washers
Use nuts and washers in the same alloy as the bolt or stud so the whole joint corrodes at the same (very low) rate. For flange joints, hardened washers under the nut help spread load and protect the surface.
Do not mix with carbon steel in wet service
Hastelloy is noble in most solutions. Pairing it with carbon steel or low-alloy hardware in a wet joint can drive corrosion of the less noble part. Keep the wetted fasteners in Hastelloy.

FAQs - Hastelloy Fasteners
They are used where ordinary bolting corrodes: acid and chloride flange joints, FGD scrubbers, reactors, pumps, valves, pulp bleaching, pharma vessels and seawater equipment. The nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy keeps its integrity where 316 or 904L would pit or crack.
C276 has more molybdenum and copes with a wide mix of oxidising and reducing chemicals. C22 has more chromium and is better in strongly oxidising acids and hot chloride solutions. When the process chemistry is uncertain, C276 is the usual first choice.
Yes, B2 is designed for pure hydrochloric acid without oxidisers. It is not suitable when ferric or cupric ions are present, and it should not be kept in the 540–815 °C range. B3 offers better thermal stability if that is a concern.
Hastelloy bolts are machined from bar made to ASTM B574 (C276, C22) or ASTM B335 (B2, B3), and dimensions follow ASME B18 or ISO and DIN standards. ASTM A193 and A194 apply to steel bolting and nuts, not to Hastelloy.
In the annealed condition they are lower in strength than B7 studs, though comparable to or above many 316 fasteners. Cold-worked bar can be stronger. Check the yield on the MTC and design the joint from certified values rather than assuming.
