Stainless Steel 316Ti Tube Fittings

Aashish Metal & Alloys is a reliable manufacturer, stockist & exporter of SS 316Ti tube fittings, designed to meet industrial requirements where regular 316 stainless steel is not effective as it suffers degradation when exposed to heat and chloride. Stabilised with titanium to prevent the carbon from attacking the chromium, our 316Ti range is created to meet ASTM A182 / A276 and is equivalent to UNS S31635, DIN 1.4571 and JIS SUS316Ti specifications and is the most resistant to intergranular corrosion after welding. It is that single difference that makes 316Ti the preferred alloy for refineries, offshore platforms, chemical plants and pharmaceutical manufacturers where lines are hot, lines are frequently cycled and media is aggressive. From 1/16” to 2” we carry true ready stock with no made to order lead times for male connectors, female connectors, unions, elbows, tees, ferrule sets and bulkhead fittings all of which are delivered with mill test certificates and third party inspection can be ordered. Whether the order is a single sample union or a full export container, our engineering team verifies pressure rating, dimensions and certification before any item leaves the stockyard.

What Makes 316Ti Different From Standard 316 Stainless Steel?

Grade 316Ti is built on the same austenitic 18-10 chromium-nickel-molybdenum base as standard 316, with one critical addition: a controlled percentage of titanium. During welding or sustained exposure above 425°C, ordinary 316 stainless steel is vulnerable to carbide precipitation at the grain boundaries, which leads to intergranular corrosion. Titanium reacts preferentially with carbon, forming stable titanium carbides instead, so the chromium stays available to maintain the passive oxide layer that gives stainless steel its corrosion resistance.

In practical terms, this means a 316Ti tube fitting holds up better than a standard 316 fitting in heat-cycled lines, post-weld assemblies, and aggressive process media containing chlorides, sulphurous compounds, or other halides — exactly the conditions found in refineries, brewing lines, and pharmaceutical reactors.

  • Also known as: UNS S31635 Tube Fittings, DIN 1.4571 Tube Fittings, WNR 1.4571 Fittings, JIS SUS316Ti Fittings
  • Primary specification: ASTM A182 (forged fittings), ASTM A276 / A479 (bar stock), ASME SA182 / SA276 / SA479
  • Core advantage: superior resistance to intergranular and chloride-pitting corrosion versus Grade 316

Frequently Asked Questions on Nickel Alloy Pipes and Tubes

Nickel Alloy Pipes and Tubes are commonly found in high pressure and high temperature, corrosive environments (high pressure) used in chemical processing, petrochemical plants, marine systems, heat exchangers, power generation and oil and gas refining. They can survive under extreme conditions hence they are suitable in demanding industrial uses.
The grades that are most commonly used are the Nickel 200, Nickel 201, Alloy 400, Alloy 600, Alloy 625, Alloy 800 and Alloy 825 and Hastelloy grades. The grades have varying grades of corrosion resistance, heat resistance and mechanical strengths based on the service environment.
Depending on the grade, nickel alloys have a temperature range of between -196C and 1100C. Alloys like Inconel 600 and 625 provide extraordinary high temperature stability thus they are applicable in furnaces, boilers and heat treatment apparatus.
Yes. Nickel alloys are very resistant to acid like sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid and seawater. Monel 400, Hastelloy C276 and Inconel 625 are also popular where there is the concern of pitting, crevice corrosion and stress-corrosion cracking.
Nickel Alloy Pipes and Tubes are in the form of seamless, welded, ERW and drawn-over-mandrel (DOM). High-pressure and high-temperature applications use seamless pipes and the general industrial use uses welded pipes.

Selection depends on:

  • Temperature of operation
  • Type of corrosive media
  • Required pressure rating
  • The mechanical strength requirements.
  • Standards in the industry (ASTM, ASME, DIN, ISO).

An expert on materials will result in the selection of a high-temperature alloy such as Alloy 625, or an alkaline alloy such as Nickel 200/201.

Yes, EN 10204 3.1 MTC, PMI findings, hardness testing, chemical composition testing, hydrostatic or pneumatic pressure testing and NACE MR0175/MR0103 compliance are provided when these are required by reputed manufacturers.
