Frequently Asked Questions
C17200 Beryllium Copper (BeCu) (also referred to as Alloy 25) is a material that has high strength, non-magnetic and does not produce sparks. It possesses great metal working, shaping, non-galling and machining characteristics.
BeCu 173 is cheaper compared to BeCu 172 since it has a machining cost factor of 1.0 in comparison with steel 12L14. It is suitable in soldering, brazing, welding, hot and cold working, however, but not forging.
No country in the world prohibits, restricts or otherwise limits the use of copper beryllium and beryllium-containing materials.
