Beryllium provides Copper with the strength of steel, and its conductivity of Copper Alloy. Exposure or inhalation of beryllium may lead to immune response leading to an individual getting sensitized to beryllium.
High speed steel or carbide machines are used to machine beryllium copper. The types that are recommended in the use of high speed steel tools are M1, M2, T1 or T2. When utilising the carbide tools, general purpose carbide grade C-2 is recommended.
