Aashish Metal & Alloys is one of the well-known manufacturers, stockists and exporters of Stainless Steel 321 fasteners which provide the high-performance fastening solutions to industries where heat and corrosion never take a break. Grade 321 is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel and this one addition of titanium is the differentiator: it will bind up carbon before it can bond to chromium and form chromium carbides, preventing the fasteners from intergranular corrosion following welding or extended exposure to high temperatures. The outcome is a bolt, nut or stud that resists sensitisation across the 425–815 °C range and gives reliable oxidation service to ~870 °C, where most 304 metals suffer a drop in their properties. We make the entire range of metric and imperial sizes of hex bolts, heavy hex bolts, stud bolts, U bolts, eye bolts, hex nuts, washers, and custom screws, all backed by mill test certificates EN 10204 3.1, backed up on request by a third party inspection service, and traceable. Your project stays on time and on spec whether you need a single critical stud for a heat exchanger or tonnage for a refinery shutdown, our ready stock, custom manufacturing and global logistics are helping you keep your project moving.

What Are Stainless Steel 321 Fasteners?
Stainless Steel 321 fasteners are fastening components — bolts, nuts, studs, screws, and washers — manufactured from grade 321 austenitic stainless steel (UNS S32100, Werkstoff 1.4541). The alloy contains roughly 17–19% chromium and 9–12% nickel, plus a deliberate addition of titanium at five times the carbon content. This titanium stabilization is the defining feature: during welding or service in the 425–815 °C sensitisation range, titanium combines with carbon to form titanium carbides, preventing the chromium-carbide precipitation (“sensitization”) that would otherwise leave the metal vulnerable to intergranular attack.
In practical terms, that means SS 321 fasteners can be welded, heated, and cooled repeatedly without losing their corrosion resistance — a property that ordinary 304 fasteners cannot guarantee. They are non-magnetic in the annealed condition, offer excellent oxidation resistance, good creep strength, and reliable performance in moderately and highly oxidizing environments.
321 vs 321H — Know the Difference
Grade 321 carries up to 0.08% carbon and is the general-purpose choice. Grade 321H is the high-carbon variant (0.04–0.10% C) developed for sustained creep strength above 537 °C, making it the preferred specification for boiler, superheater, and high-temperature pressure applications.

Stainless Steel 321 Fasteners Applications
Because SS 321 fasteners thrive where temperature and corrosion meet, they are specified across the most demanding sectors:
- Oil & Gas / Petrochemical — Refinery piping, flanged joints, and pressure equipment exposed to heat and aggressive media.
- Power & Energy — Boilers, superheaters, steam lines, and nuclear-grade assemblies (especially 321H).
- Aerospace & Defence — Exhaust systems, airframe components, and high-temperature engine hardware.
- Heat Exchangers & Boilers — Tube-sheet bolting and assemblies subject to thermal cycling.
- Chemical Processing — Reactors, pressure vessels, and pipework in oxidizing chemical environments.
- Pharmaceutical & Food — Hygienic equipment requiring corrosion resistance and cleanability.
- Marine & Sea Water — Fastening for equipment exposed to salt-laden atmospheres.
- Pulp & Paper — Process machinery operating in hot, corrosive conditions.
SS 321 vs SS 304 vs SS 347 — Comparison
All three are austenitic stainless steels, but stabilization and temperature behaviour set them apart.
| Criterion | SS 321 | SS 304 | SS 347 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stabilizer | Titanium | None | Niobium (Nb) |
| Intergranular corrosion resistance | Excellent | Limited | Excellent |
| Max service temperature | ~870 °C | ~870 °C (scaling) | ~870 °C |
| Weldability (thick sections) | Excellent | Good* | Excellent |
| High-temp creep strength | High | Moderate | High |
| Typical cost | Moderate | Lower | Higher |
| Best for | Welded, heat-exposed parts | General purpose | Severe high-temp service |
*304 can sensitize in the 425–815 °C range unless the low-carbon 304L variant is used.

Frequently Asked Questions
A: Stainless Steel 321 (UNS S32100, Werkstoff 1.4541) is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel containing about 17–19% chromium and 9–12% nickel. The titanium prevents chromium-carbide precipitation, giving the alloy strong resistance to intergranular corrosion and high-temperature scaling up to roughly 816 °C.
A: SS 321 has up to 0.08% carbon for general use, while SS 321H is the high-carbon variant (0.04–0.10% C) engineered for greater creep strength above 537 °C. Choose 321H for boilers, superheaters, and sustained high-temperature pressure service.
A: Grade 321 fasteners are typically rated for continuous service up to about 816 °C (1500 °F), with good oxidation resistance and intermittent capability higher still, depending on the application.
A: In the annealed condition SS 321 is essentially non-magnetic. Heavy cold working (such as thread rolling) can induce slight magnetism, which is normal for austenitic stainless steels.
A: Bolts and studs are commonly produced to ASTM A193 / ASME SA193 and nuts to ASTM A194 / ASME SA194, with dimensions to DIN, ISO, BS, and ASME B18 series standards.
